NEW – RECLAIMED – RECYCLED
We strive to use as many renewable, reclaimed, and recycled materials as possible. We exclusively use natural, non-toxic finishing products. And aim to reduce our carbon footprint by partnering with other local businesses for any components we do not produce ourselves.
We love to create pieces that incorporate recycled components, such as table legs. And to revitalize heirloom pieces that have seen better days, but have the good bones, and sentimental value to carry them forth into a new era.
We create many custom pieces of live-edge furniture and installations such as tables, counter tops, mantles, etc. We aim to use 60% or more reclaimed woods in our pieces. Many come from trees struck down by lightning, or downed by heavy winds and rain. And the rest come from sustainably farmed woods of varieties like sapele.
Each piece we create is a labour of love. We work together with our clients, and our trusted wood suppliers to find slabs that are both beautiful, and functional to perfectly fit the needs of a given space or design. From the grain, to the color, we carefully select each element of the materials we use to make into your new statement piece.
My name is Krista Golden and I am the creator, owner, & operator of Golden Gossamer Woodworking. I am a mixed media artist, entrepreneur, and mom of two from the Pacific Northwest. My two kids, and my brother help me create, manufacture, and finish many of my biggest projects. Especially my daughter–together we cover all things color, revitalization, and creativity.
I have been working as an artist/entrepreneur for over 16 years. I started out with a glass art and gemstone jewelry design business, and fell in love with woodworking when my 13 year old son and I created a massive live-edged walnut dining table for our family home. Once I started making furniture, I was hooked. I’ve always loved refinishing furniture, which naturally segued into creating installation pieces for my home. I have built several countertops and mantels for for our family’s home remodels. And after a few friends and community members saw my work and requested commissioned pieces of their own, I realized that I could turn my passion and talent into a career that brings me fulfillment and joy.
